while The Network will be slowly re-transformed in

Le Musee di-visioniste - the new museum for networked art, which is manifesting all net based - networked activities of

Agricola de Cologne as his most singular and very special artistic expression.

Th Network will, however, remain that dynamic idea acting continuously in the background.

On 31 Dezember, NewMediaFest’2010 will be finalized.
Starting on 1 January 2010 and running during 2010,
this festival project was not only offering to the online and offline audience an retrospective view on 10 years
[NewMediaArtProjectNetwork]:||cologne - the experimental platform for art and new media, covering a wide range of fields of digital art,
but also pointing to the perspectives on future activities.

It would not be wrong to face the festival project also as a resume
of the activities of the virtual artist and curator Agricola de Cologne,
who created himself on 1 January 2000 as an artist brand.
The NewMediafest’2010 is spotlighting some of his major networked creations manifested as and in the [NewMediaArtProjectNetwork]:||cologne and its incorporated platforms, projects and sub-projects.

But by realizing NewMediaFest’2010, it was also the meaning to finalize
the majority of his networked creations by 31 December 2010, as well,
i.e. SoundLAB - sonic art projects, Cinematheque - streaming media,
JavaMuseum - Forum for Internet Technology in Contemporary Art,
A Virtual Memorial - networked art and the numerous media art projects
realized during the past ten years in the framwork of these new media art platforms, including more than 2000 participating media artists from 72 countries.

As the end of the festival project, the date 31 December 2010 can be understood also as the end of an era of very active and dynamic networked art creations as a specific form of contemporary art using communicating media, initiated and developed by one single person who took the role of an entire team and its fundctions, i.e. Agricola de Cologne.

The [NewMediaArtProjectNetwork]:||cologne can be said to be truely a most successful media art project, not only due to its complex structures developed during its 10 years running time, and very popular, since during more than 10 years it attracted not only more than 10 million unique online visitors leaving more than 100 million hits, but The Network as such and numerous individual projects realized withing this framework were participating in more than 400 festivals and media art events. Not only the audience, but also the participants were appreciating these new media art creations and made them successful.

At this stage, the director and curator of NewMediaFest’2010, Wilfried Agricola de Cologne, would like to thank all participating artists, curators, institutions and organisations for collaborating during the one year challenge. It was a great time!

Since the end of creative processes often represents again the starting point for something new, finalizing the global network in its current form means for Agricola de Cologne on one hand preserving the completed project contexts in their state of 31 December 2011 in a new museum context, but also starting on 1 January 2011 the new festival project “CologneOFF 2011 - videoart in a global context”, which is continuing and extending his activities in the field of “art and moving images” as a new adventure during 2011 & 2012.

to be organised in virtual & physical space –> Internet, Cologne, Germany and many places around the globe.

CologneOFF 2011 will consist of several program components

1. CologneOFF VI as the basis
2. contributions from curators from many countries
3. 12 thematic programs by VideoChannel
4. additional extrernal program structures

The festival project will be organised based on existing and extending networking structures, one could also speak of an exemplary local and global networking project.

While CologneOFF 2011 will be completed as a festival project on 31 December 2011, the physical presentations, screenings and exhibtion will run at least until the end of 2012.

VAC - Video Art Consortium will coordinate all these activities consisting of all those Network platforms dealing with “art and moving images”, i.e. VideoChannel, CologneOFF - Cologne International Videoart Festival, VAD - Video Art Database, VIP - VideoChannel Interview Project and the publishing platform netEX and netMAXX, and not to forget “artvideoKOELN“, the curatorial platform which will be the holder of all physical activities on the field of “art and moving images”.

starts. This platform for streaming media exhibitions is already complete and will remain for permanent as a museum and media art project online for permanent.

In September, SoundLAB - http://soundlab.newmediafest.org - will release its 7th edition of sonic art, after SoundlAB started in 2004. Complerted this way, also Soundlab will remain after 2010, as a museum and a media art project itself online for permanent.

Until 31.December 2010, Celebrate! - the netart features 2010 on JavaMuseum will finalize JavaMuseum - Forum for internet Technology in Contemporary Art - an an active environment, and will remain online for permanent, as well, as a museum and media art project itself.

At the end of 2010 or the beginning of 2011, there will be no special announcements, but these essential components of The Network will simply expire and be no longer continued.
