Concept

Call out for artists, writers, thinkers and researchers whose works explore the idea of connectivity, correspondence and/or dialogue. Work that perhaps subvert the usual electronic and digital methods of communication or question why dialogue is important?

This interpretation could be as simple as a ‘message in a bottle’, dialogue systems or in the likes of James Lee Byers, ornate, decorative and detailed sculptural letters. It could encounter political statements or disperse cultural observations; correspondence that is not immediate but perhaps exists on the contingencies of travel.

Who

Visual artists are invited to submit artworks and writers are invited to submit short texts that encompass these notions. All material and media will be considered. And all national and international artists and writers welcome.

Gallery owners are welcome to express their interest in hosting this show in their venue.

Where and when

The exhibition will take place at Broadwalk Arts Space in Bristol from 19th July 2009 to 24th July 2009. The exhibition could possibly evolve into a touring exhibition with possible venues being in London and Europe.

Submission

Artists please email approximately 4 jpeg images and a short text of 100 words to alidiana@gmail.com

Writers please email a short excerpt of text related to the theme along with a brief explanation of the text.

Selected artists will pay an admin fee of ₤10.00.

Friday 3rd July 2009.
