Like previous years we are looking for new video art works and short
films, media installations, live audiovisual performances, network based
projects… In addition, we are very glad to receive proposals from
curators and producers/distributors for the non-competitive special
screenings.

VIDEOMEDEJA festival is stricly dedicated to art, completely independent and non-profit annual event. The first festival was held in 1996. So far, 14 festivals have been realized, more than 3000 works made by artists all over the world were submitted for the programme. Renowned artists, prominent critics, theoreticians, producers, distributors and journalists from all over the world took part in the festival programme.
Festival focuses on narrative or abstract art projects which combine image and sound, communications and networks, from video art works, documentaries and short films, digital animations, media installations, url and network projects, objects, interactive and robotized objects, open source applications, audiovisual performances, mobile technologies, electronic music, advanced technologies in art practice…
Permanently obeying copyrights and being strictly determined forprofessional approach, videomedeja is recognized festival on the international scene.

Theme and Form
There is no fixed criteria concerning work theme or form. The only works that selection committee will not consider are ones containing any kind of offensive or aggressive message/content. The submitted works should be produced in 2009, 2010 or 2011.

Costs and shipping
Due to the limited budget, we can’t provide screening fees or cover the travel expenses for the participants. In certain cases, we might cover travel costs for live performances. The Festival is usually providing accommodation in Novi Sad for participants who wish to attend.
Costs for sending preview and screening copies are to be paid by the sender. Shipping is made at the risk of the sender; shipment has to contain the following remark: For cultural purposes only, tape/dvd – temporary loan for the festival; value=0 euro. The packages whose customs declaration forms have been filled out differently will not be accepted! Please do not send previews by courier services, no additional cost will be covered by the festival. Return expenses for the screening copy and the festival catalogue will be covered by the festival. Screening copies will be returned no later than three months after the festival has finished; organizers will use the address submitted in entry form, so make sure to inform us if there are any changes; otherwise we are not responsible for any loss or damage!

Deadlines
Selection committee will make the final selection no later than November 1st 2011 and will inform you immediately upon doing so. If your work is selected for the competition, we might request a screening copy from you.

Agreement
Please use one application per entry piece. Each entry is a sort of agreement and it is necessary to follow the submission procedure:
Submit one copy of the entry online
If possible, for video/film submissions please do send signed hardcopy of entry form – after you fill out the online form the printable version will be loaded in your browser –
Printed entry is not necessary for media installations | network | live projects submissions. If you upload your video documentation and all the necessary info through online form than you don’t need to send anything by post.
